Pianist and conductor Fabio Gentili is often praised for his highly sensitive musicality. Recent conducting engagements include assistant conductor for the winter season at Sarasota Opera and conductor of the world premiere of Thomas the Rhymer, a new opera produced by Aria412. Mr. Gentili is a faculty voice coach at Duquesne University and a guest vocal coach and conductor at St. Vincent College where he works on their respective opera productions. He was recently appointed Conductor in Residence at Church of the Redeemer where he teaches two student conductors conducting technique and score reading. He also coaches the Choral Fellow singers in opera repertory and cover role assignments. As the Conductor in Residence, he will conduct all Opus: Impact productions with orchestra, including this year's productions of Respighi's Lauda per la Nativita del Signore and the Faure Requiem.
As a pianist, Mr. Gentili was recently seen in recitals at Chatham University, University of Pittsburgh, Third Presbyterian Church, Carlow University and Westminster College alongside soprano Sydney Kaczorowski. Additional engagements include rehearsal pianist for the Westmoreland Symphony's production of Verdi Requiem, the conductor/pianist in Mozart Coronation Mass in C major, and conductor/maestro al cembalo in Pergolesi Stabat Mater. As a staff pianist at Duquesne, Mr. Gentili accompanies dozens of vocal and instrumental recitals every year. He additionally serves as a faculty member of the Bologna International Opera Academy and the Carnegie Mellon Music Preparatory School.
