“We are challenged to end poverty and malnutrition, to promote
world health, work for justice and peace around the world, and to
overcome racial, ethnic and religious strife.”
Reaching
out to help others – not only through monetary gifts, but
also through hands-involvement – is an ongoing commitment
at Redeemer. It’s reflected in the selfless work of our Outreach
Committee, and in the personal efforts of each of us.
We support projects serving people in the local area through organizations
including the Pittsburgh Interfaith Impact Network (PIIN), and the
East End Cooperative Ministry (EECM). Under EECM’s auspices,
we prepare and serve dinner once each month for 20-30 guests of
an overnight shelter in the East Liberty Presbyterian church. We
also support the outreach efforts of Episcopal Relief and Development
and the greater Anglican communion, especially in Rwanda.
